TV – 2012

In 2012 television broadcasting switched from analogue to digital.
With it went the familiar image of white noise on our TV screens.
The ‘fuzz’¬†was the visualisation of background radiation left over from the big bang and is as old as the universe.

To mark this significant point in the history of technology, I decided to create this artwork.
It aims to suspend a snapshot of the white noise image for the future.
The artwork is made by hand painting the screen with acrylic paint and varnish.
