In 2012 television broadcasting switched from analogue to digital.
With it went the familiar image of white noise on our TV screens.
The ‘fuzz’ was the visualisation of background radiation left over from the big bang and is as old as the universe.
To mark this significant point in the history of technology, I decided to create this artwork.
It aims to suspend a snapshot of the white noise image for the future.
The artwork is made by hand painting the screen with acrylic paint and varnish.
